Green Group has recently taken two briefings on the importance of recycling, addressed to both students at the British School and employees of the UK Embassy in Bucharest. The purpose of this initiative is to increase the awareness of the importance of smart recycling, while also wishing to bring to attention the environment.
First ever Gold Standard Certified “C02 emissions reduction from PET recycling” in Europe - saving annually 45,380t CO2
The Project “Greentech’s Emissions Reductions from PET Recycling, Romania", developed by Greentech – a member company of Green Group, is the first project in Europe applied to the recycling of PET waste, proactively reducing greenhouse gases emissions (GHGs) that would be otherwise required for the production of plastic products made of virgin inputs and accelerating progress towards many of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s).

The project highlights a vision for the future of the city, an action plan to stimulate innovation, reduce waste, increase product lifecycle through repairs and reuse, maximize recycling and eliminate waste disposal to the landfill. Implementing the principles of the cyclical economy will diminish the effects of the global resource crunch and world economies will be able to continue developing without consuming additional material resources.

GreenWEEE turns 10 years of activity
Ever since the opening of the first production line, GreenWEEE has recycled over 8 million pieces of refrigerators, televisions, monitors and mobile phones, some of the many electrical equipment that is recycled into our facilities. By recycling one refrigerator, GreenWEEE saves the CO2 equivalent of emissions made by a car that twice surrounds the planet Earth.
